Itinerary: June 23-25, 2015
Group will meet at 9:00 A.M. at Argo put-in outside Galice, Oregon. Shortly after putting on the water, our group will reach the Wild and Scenic section of the Rogue River. We will be passing by incredible scenery and excellent rapids such as Grave's Creek Falls and Rainie Falls. By noon we will stop for a delicious lunch along the beach. After lunch we will raft down some of the best rapids on the trip after which point we will stop for the day and set up camp. At camp we will have the opportunity to explore the area, relax, get to know each other, and settle into being away from civilization for another two days.
After a filling breakfast, our group will hit the water again for another excellent morning of whitewater rafting. Bears, eagles, salmon, mink, beaver, and river otters are all likely to be seen from this point on. We will stop again for lunch and then make our way downstream where we will go through the two most iconic rapids of the trip, Mule Creek Canyon and Blossom Bar. Shortly after we will stop and camp for the night. Food, music, games, and a creative writing workshop will keep us well occupied.
Breakfast, again provided by the guides, will culminate our last morning on the river. A lazy and beautiful stretch of slow moving water will carry us slowly down the last miles of the Rogue River. More wildlife sightings are inevitable. After a lunch along the lazy river, our group will make our way to our take-out at Foster Bar. There, a shuttle will be waiting for us to take us back to Galice.
Below is a short video highlighting some of the river as experienced through our sponsor ROW Adventures. Though this trip is not a lodge-to-lodge as it is in the video, it still gives a good perspective of what one can expect on a multi-day trip.
